4/19/2021 6:45:07 PMThe last few months trout fishing on Lake Sammamish has been a bit slow (for me anyway). It's still good to spend a sunny day on the water with a grandchild. Tight lines.

Headed back down to Lake Samammish on Friday and Saturday. It seems like it sometimes takes most of the day to figure out where the fish are located, so we thought going 2 days in a row we would be able to nail it down. Friday, we fished from 9am to 3pm and only came up with 1 nice sized curthroat fishing at the north end near Redmond. On Saturday we tried from the boat launch to the weather buoy wilth nothing, then went over to the northwest side of the lake. Saturday we had 2 boats out and found just 3 fish over there. I will try to add a picture to this report. We tried shallow and deeper but ended up both days catching the fish at 15 feet on the downrigger with either an old goat lure or a wiggle hoochie with a sling blade. Water temperature was 55 degrees. About as poor of fishing as we have had in Samammish for quite awhile. But, the weather was gorgeous, no wind and lots of sun. Got one of the grandkids her first fish and nothing better than to teach them the rules of fishing. 1) You have to go fishing to catch a fish 2) you should bring the lunch, 3) you must clean the fish and eat it if you keep it, and most importantly 4) you can't catch a fish if you already have one on.
