Launched at Porcupine and went upriver to the little bay before Harker's Canyon between buoy 3 & 5. Trolled around using a Mack's chartreuse floating smile w/slow death hook and a purple wally pop crawler harness. The chartreuse was getting more action, so I swapped to a chartreuse cha cha. Caught two nice ones around 20" and a couple more about 14". Threw back a couple smalleyes. When the action slowed, we pulled up the gear and were about to try navigating up to buoy 5 for the first time when Mark and Glenn stopped by for a chat. They gave us some excellent advice on how to maneuver through the channel, which helped a lot. We would have used their fishing advice once we got up there, but the sun had already taken it's toll on us, and we had to call it a day before we got burned any further. (Don't forget sunscreen!) Now that I know the area, we'll head up further and do some jigging next time. We're so grateful for the beautiful weather and for this wonderful area to fish.

P.S. I'm confused about which section of NWFR's Columbia River to post reports for the Spokane arm. I think 19 works better because 18 says "to" the Spokane confluence, which linguistically suggests it doesn't include the arm. ¯\_( ' ' )_/¯

"I'm confused about which section of NWFR's Columbia River to post reports for the Spokane arm."

Technically none. "The Arm" isn't part of the Columbia, it's the end of the Spokane River where it meets the Columbia. SeveraI years ago I suggested a section be created for "the Arm" as defined by the state, from the confluence at the Columbia upstream to Little Falls Dam. The answer was reports should be posted under the Spokane River. No one does this, and the majority use section 18 for reports in the Arm.

Nice report, and the taco pics look delicioso. :-)

You may not have gone where we suggested but at least now you have a better idea of the location I was describing.
