Great morning on Samish! Bite started off insanely hot, 3 landed and 1 lost before I was ever able to have both lines in the water at the same time. Then quickly a small cold front passed over and the wind started to pick up and the temperature dropped, and the bite stopped for about 2 hours until it passed. Soon as it started to calm down and get warmer, the bite turned back on and I was able to quickly finish my limit.

I used Elgin Fishing Gods Tooth spoons in 50/50 gold and Fire Tiger, A Macks Cripplure I frankensteined into a double hook kokanee set up, and a green Reli Lures spinner, all 12 inches behind a moon jelly sling blade and clown pattern Dick Nite Dodger. The Lowrance battery was dead so I was fishing blind all morning. Luckily the fish were all up top and I didn't have to search for them

Video shows the action from the morning.

Great video! Never fished Samish before. I like to use my kayak for trolling but I don't have rigger. Can I just use a weight? How deep were you fishing? Thx!!!!!

Fish were only 5ft down, so no rigger needed

Josh, really good video and report! I rig a lot of my lures kokanee style too. On the cripplure, I took the straw out of one of my lube cans and jammed it in the hole where the leader runs through and cut it of on the outside. I left it a hair long on the inside. The straw fits real tight an does not fray my leader.

Wow, thanks for that, it is a great idea. I will have to try that.
