My son and I were at the launch waiting in line at 7:30am and left about 10:30. It was sunny out and going to be warm in the upper 70’s. The water temperature was 65 degrees.

My son hooked two fish before I got into the water. He only got one in the boat. We both had doubles but not all got in the boat with handing off the rods to each other. Clear Lake has received another dodger offering. He was in 56 feet of water at 37 feet on the downrigger. An anchor rope is what I think.

We were from surface to 35 feet on the downrigger. The lures were green and orange. Dodgers of different patterns. Tipping with worms and corn. Sometimes I used just corn. We went 1-1.4mph.

Lining up to get out of the lake at the launch was interesting.

Lotsa fun! I also had screen reflection in a few of my pictures until I added a 4" deep sunshade that attaches to the screen via velcro, removable on overcast days. I noticed the following RB took the bait right after the first one bite the (bleeding) worm in two but missed the hook I always cut a worm in two- last longer but mainly adds scent- never whole worm. have you ever tried attaching the dodger to the camera then the DR release clip. Much more action is felt on those new bows without the added weight- and you won't lose it on a anchor rope- must be a fortune in metal on those ropes- too bad they used cotton or poly rather than a sinking line before they break loose topsides. My FF shows anchor ropes soon enough to turn and miss them- but not all- lol- wish it showed 90* rather than 60*. Are they trying to irritate us with ads that move now/? They should take a poll- "who likes them" At least remove them for typing answers. Thanks for the videos.

Toni, thanks for the report. It has been a couple of years since I fished Clear Lake since the kokanee bite died off. Have you heard of any being caught in that lake? I am not sure, but I think the planting of trout has had an adverse impact on the kokanee. Bill

No, BillM, I don't think it is trout. WDFW has planted thousands more trout there in the past with kokanee survival. One thing they stopped doing is barging the fish to the deeper end. There are a lot of bass in this lake. Two types. This year the lake is lower than las year. The decline started at the same time we had that hot one. The lake was at its lowest level and kokanee were planted in July. Maybe it was that? I don't know. Another person is adamant the kokanee planted by WDFW are paper fish. They only show up on paper.
