The spawn is still going on but not expected to last more than another week or so. 2 reasons
1. Flow has slowed to 8350 CFS
2. Volumes of larger fish are going down as 12 to 28 inches are now populating the spawning beds.
Fishing is still great. Casting UV glow thundersticks in 2 to 5 ft of water. Reel very slowly while giving a jig to the bait. You don't want these lures floating up so constant reeling keeps them from floating up. The action to your lure should be jerking forward and a pause. You get this pause instead of a float up by constantly reeling. Do not snap jig the lure to you. Walleye love the easiest meal and if you horse your bait through the water you won't catch anything.
Keep in mind all of this is happening when it gets dark at 8:30. If you were doing it right you should only need to be there for 2 hours to get close to your limit. However the bite has been going until 2:00 a.m..
If you are in a boat troll plugs between 10 to 15 ft deep. Perch patterns are working the best.
