We were on the lake from 8-11am. The water temp was 60 degrees. The air temperature, by the time we left was 65 degrees because it was overcast. The pool level was 1,196.63 feet of elevation (maximum of 1,207 ft). This is lower than when I fished it all last year.
It was a bit slow. I got 2 fish in and my son was having all the bites but not getting any. My second was 13 inches and I was feeling pretty good about it. Then he got one in! A 16-inch cutthroat. He kept getting bites and a few in. While I had none. He finally said let’s go and as I started to reach for my rod, I got a kokanee on!
We ended with 6 cutthroat and 1 kokanee.
We both were at 13-25 feet on the downriggers. We each longlined one rod. I switched and went back to stacking my rod on the downrigger after a while. At first, we used a combination of worms and corn then changed to just corn which had better results. I tried to keep the speed at 1.2-1.4mph.
All fish had adipose fins intact.
