Got on the water a little after 7 AM. Calm day with very little wind. Trolled a few different offerings and it didn’t seemed to matter as long as it was pink. Had our best luck with pink and white mini hoochies with a pink smile blade, behind a pink and UV arrow flash or sling blade. Used salted corn, with and without tuna oil. Seemed like the tuna oil got us more steady action.
We started at 25 feet on the wire and caught fish immediately. We then caught a couple fish while trying to get our lines clipped to our releases, so we ended up fishing closer to the surface for an hour. Kept getting into trout, so we ended up moving to deeper water and chasing schools of kokes up and down in the water column from 25 to 75 feet on the wire, with most fish caught between 45 and 55 feet down.
Got off the water at 12:30 when all the pleasure boaters started to show up. Probably didn’t use a cup of gas today. Fished mostly between the launch and the point directly to the south.
