First trip out this year for the resident coho fishing with my son James and wife JoAnn. We launched out of Edmonds sling and headed across to one of my favorite sots, Apple Tree Cove. Lines int he water at 7:15am, low tide was 730ish, HT 1pm.

We ran two riggers and one Deep 6 line. The riggers got all the action using hoochies, anchovy strips and 11" flashers. Depths that caught fish were 40-55 feet deep. Kept a 3 to 3.5mph troll speed going. Caught fish mostly trolling with the tide today.

Went 3 for 5 on coho and lost one king (easy to tell the difference!). Last fish of the day came right at 1pm during slack tide - always worth waiting to get to that tide change.

Very few boats, I guess everyone was down at Jeff Head.

Great job! I just don’t have puget sound fish dialed in. Makes me think fish in the big water are dumb or something.

It is nice to have the family out on a good day of fishing and catching some fresh fish.

Great fish! Mind if I ask how deep you were fishing? At Apple tree would you have been following terrain contours or tide rips?

Tide ripes, 150 to 400 feet deep
