Maybe Pinks are just morning biters, but they really haven't been living up to their aggressive reputation this year, at least for me. Trolled humpy hollow for two hours at around 50 feet on the wire, lots of fish on the fish finder but none bit. There were quite literally hundreds of fish jumping and finning, so we brought out the buzzbombs and jigged for around 3 or 4 hours. The whole time despite the lure being certainly seen by dozens of fish, I only managed three bites. The first was lost as we tried to net it, the second was just a nibble, and the third also failed to commit. I had a similar experience casting from the beach. I did note that the fish responded much better to a cast and retrieve than they did to a jig. We are heading out tomorrow again, hopefully with different results.
