Launched out of Port Orchard around 7am on Friday morning. Motored up the east side of Bainbridge Island and crossed over to the oil tanks south of Edmonds. Attached an OG2 to each downrigger rod and began trolling north towards Edmonds. (Guessing that it took us a little over an hour to reach the oil tanks.)
We had a couple of drive-bys; but, no solid takedowns. We were trolling in 400 to 500 feet of water. And, using a new technique: Attaching flashers directly to the downrigger ball and then clipping the OG2s in 2 vertical feet above and about 6 feet back.
At 11:40, the action changed: Really nice takedown that resulted in our first coho to the boat! Shortly after this (within 5 minutes) had a second takedown and brought our second coho to the boat. And, shortly after this, had another takedown and released a chum that was a little smaller then both of the coho.
