Buddy and I decided to run down some notorious lockjaw coho in lake Washington. Started at around 5pm trolling back and forth in front of Houghton beach. Immediately started marking fish all over the place to the point where I thought the fish finder was malfunctioning. Realized it was correct when we started to see them jumping all over the boat by the dozens. Had one takedown at around 5:30 but it didn't stick, and finally got one solid hookup at 6:30. Bright and gorgeous hen!
Tried running a maglip first with no success. Switched to the tried and true green flasher with a green ace hi fly and it did the trick. Had 2-3 hits after that landed fish but they didn't stick either. We were trolling rather slow at around 1.5mph. Seems these fish are not nearly as eager to chase down fast presentations when they hit the freshwater.
