I took Glenn and another buddy out of Ft Spokane. We got a late start because of the cold temperatures, 12F over night. And were on the water and fishing by 1030. We headed out on the main Columbia and went upriver. We hit several areas over the next 4 hours and caught 12 eyes and 4 burbot. We released 4.5 and 5.15 females and had 10 In the live well. We headed back to the Casino Flats area and found a spot that was holding eyes. In 15 minutes we doubled our catch and in an hour and a half quadrupled it. My best results were with a perch colored swim bait, Glenn had luck with a blade bait and our other buddy had the hot hand with a grub. All totaled we caught 45 eyes and 4 burbot. We cleaned 26.

Walleyemark, any idea how muddy the arm is up above porcupine bay? How do you feel the walleyes act when the rivers starts to muddy up?

When - The muddy water has to get through Long Lake first so it depends on how fast that happens. The water temp in the Arm is only 37-39 degrees so the eyes are not that willing to chase a jig or a spinner I would imagine. My approach to jigging has been extremely slow so I don't think the muddy water will have to much affect if the eyes are still in the same areas I have been targeting. That being said, if the muddy water kills the bite in the Arm out to the main river we will go looking for clear water. It's that time of the year for the eyes to start heading up the Arm regardless of the clarity of the water. Just have to find them and get them to bite.

I'm heading out tomorrow mainly to get the boat wet and test out the iPilot upgrade I installed. Can't wait for spot lock. I may drop some jigs if everything goes well. Looks like the weather is going to be great.
