We made a quick trip to Washington coast for surf perch and last evening razor clam dig for the season. We arrived to Ocean Shores and had a go for surf perch, but they were elusive. We did the usually fish at a location for 15 minutes then move along the beach to the next section but with no luck. After an hour, we decided to head to Mocrocks. At Roosevelt Beach, we found a school and were on the fish. Our fishing gear include a surf rod which is ideal because it can cast farther into the waves where the surf perch are located, 10 lbs. monofilament line, size 2 Gamakatsu Hooks, with 2 oz. pyramid weight, and razor clam for bait. We used a hi-lo and slip sinker rig setup for our terminal gear. The fishing is only going to get better as the weather gets warmer into Spring. Check out our trip below.
