We went to Rock again for a little trout action. Very little wind, day started off a little grey but cleared up and temps in the upper 50s, a beautiful day to be out! We motored to the North end of the lake trolling the two bays and the creek inlet area. Water temps were 42-43f and stained but not terrible water clarity. We trolled the usual green and pink Macks wiggle hoochie behind a small dodger. The Pink caught the first two fish so we switched the other one over. Fish were not real aggressive and the going was slow. No doubles, and quite a few short strikes/missed fish. We ran speeds from 1.2-2.2 mph at depths of 1-12 feet. It took the better part of the day to catch 8 fish.
We packed in and spent a few hours looking for crappie. I have an old photo of a trip to Rock with a decent stringer of crappie but can not remember where we caught them.... if anyone wants to share a few tips for them It would be appreciated ha ha.
