Went with Glenn to the Arm. We did our part to lower the number of these terrible predators in Lake Roosevelt. Launched at first light and worked our way upriver. We did a lot of drifting and vertically jigging. The area above buoy 3 just past where they are doing the shoreline reclamation project was holding nice eyes. The buoy 1 area was also productive. We caught 48 eyes and cleaned 32. To prove we actually care about the quality of the walleye fishery. We released 10 hens between 21 and 24 inches. How did we know they were hens you may wonder? Well if you very gently squeeze their bellies, you will either see nothing come out (no pun intended) or you will quickly realize it's a male. Use a half ounce jig and stay vertical by using your trolling motor to stay on top of your jig. Not rocket science have patience and use a plastic that resembles a 3 in baitfish. We consistently find small perch and other baitfish of similar size in their stomachs. To the guy using the drop shot, we got one of your power bait minnows back.
