Took advantage of the small weather window and went to Black Lake, Thurston Co near Olympia. Had the entire lake to ourselves. We sent out three rods. One on downrigger at 15 ft with a Lure Jensen 000 half and half 4" dodger and chartreuse 1.5 brads super bait stuffed with green power bait, 23" behind dodger, set back 40 ft behind the clip. One long line set back 70 ft with 1/4oz in-line weight, gold dodger and green splatter bladed spinner, 15" behind dodger. (I think this may be one of Wanna-Lures) It's one of our "Go-to's" and always produces fish. The third rod was set back 40 ft then clipped into an Off Shore tackle mini-planer board. I don't see many guys using these here in the PNW, but they work great for getting the presentation away from the boat. The planer board was set out to the side another 70 ft. On that we had a 3/8 oz in-line weight (no dodger) and a homemade pink micro hoochi with brass hammered blade set back 15" from the weight. All of these were tipped with a small chunk of night crawler.
Wind was bad, but we managed to troll between 1.5 and 2.2. All three rods got fish, with the long line green spinner getting hit three times (missed one) and the planer board taking the largest fish. The second largest fish was taken on the downrigger.
We got consistent action spaced out through out the lake but got blown off with high wind and rain so headed for home.
