Fished Lost Lake on two days - 6/15 and 6/17. Had good action both days. On 6/15 I took only rainbow, but got quite a few, keeping three and releasing the rest. A green and black olive bugger on an intermediate fly line did good service. Fish were rising across the lake. On 6/17, I started out at Bonaparte, but fishing was slow there. I landed a few but got tired of the wind and drove back to Lost. That was the right medicine. Lost had very little wind and the fish were willing, though a little more picky than two days earlier. I needed a pheasant tail nymph to get them after trying some larger flies and failing. The lake has nice flats that drop to deeper water, and I found the best fishing in the deeper water adjacent to the flats. That second trip to the lake included some of the triploid brookies along with the rainbow.
