My first report, avid reader and first time writer.

Went to Kachess lake with a buddy. Plan was to troll in 200-300 ft of water on both east/west. Based on the previous reports I expected the kokanee to be smallish and both orange and pinks seemed good colors to start.

In the water at 6am. Started on the west side with an orange wedding ring and double d dodger. In the other rod had a pink hoochie and a arrow flash dodger, both with a 9 inch leader. Had no bites for 40min.

Decided to move to the east side and 5 min in fish on. We caught a handful and lost the same amount. All were 7-9 inches. We had the two rods at 30/40 ft initially and then 40/50. The deeper rod and pink were getting more action. For scent tried fish oil/garlic and tuna/garlic and the tuna/garlic was getting more action too. Both were cured with firecure pink color.

Decided to leave the spot, even though the bite was hot (we got even a double) to see if I could find bigger fish. Scooped a few more, but the fish was more sparsed and around same size.

Also tried trolling for cutthroat for ~30min but no action. I am assuming maybe they are in a different section of the lake.

Talked with another fisherman and they also caught smallish fish. He was trolling a bit more in the middle which seems it was producing too.

At 9:30am caught the last one and called the day as the winds were picking up.

Beautiful lake and views. Kind of reminded me of lake merwin.

If someone is fishing there soon I would recommend smaller hooks. I used size 2 drop shot and they were too big. I would probably have size size 4.

Tight lines
