Took Mike with me out to the Arm. On the water at first light and hit some of my favorite weedbeds. Very slow, Mike caught 2 nice eyes and a smallie while I snagged a a sucker. After a couple of hours of that we hit a deep channel section where Mike put a hurt on a school of 8 inch eyes. All he had to do was drop his jig over the side and catch a dink on almost every jig. I messed around and caught some on a dropshot and a jigging rap. That bite was over by 1000 so we trolled the upper narrows above buoy 5 and caught a bunch of smalleyes and a few a smallies. I trolled up a nice 3.5 lb smallie. We hit a couple of other deep holes on the way back to the launch but came up empty. A 3.5 inch perch swimbait worked best on a jig and the dropshot. A gold Colorado blade produced best while trolling. We caught 30 eyes but only 5 were worth keeping. Nothing was worth taking a picture of. The water temperature was 63 so I think it needs to get down into the 50s to spur the fall bite.
