Glenn took Sean and me out today
We hadn't been to the Arm for a while so we gave it a try. From the middle of Porcupine Bay all the way up to buoy 5 the water is quite murky and visibility is about a foot. That was our first clue to how the day was going to go. We worked our way all the way up to buoy 5 and back down and only had 3 keepers to show for it. So Glenn decided we should go back out to the main Columbia. We hit Casino Flats. Outhouse flats and across from 7 Bays. Jigging raps and blade baits did not produce for us. Slowly working a black jig with a watermelon red flake grub was really the only thing that worked. Our total was 17 eyes caught and 16 cleaned. I also caught about a 5lb rainbow on a jig. That murky water is from the melt we had at the beginning of the year. With almost no current it's taking forever for that murky water to work its way out of the Arm. Not planning on going to Porky for a while.
