Went to American Lake again on Wednesday. Launched and started trolling around 3:00pm. Was using pop-gear(Rooster Trolls) and a floating hard plastic minnow. 80-100ft of line out.Had two rods, both with pop-gear and a half ounce on each rudder.Seems the bright color rudder (chartreuse) is working better than (flame red). Trolled using my 4 stroke most the time, but I think it trolls a bit too fast for the water temp. I started my 2 stroke, trolled for less than a minute and hooked this 13 and a half inch rainbow. A little smaller than one I got last week. Water is still a bit cold. Lake was just planted twice in the last week. Probably could have caught more fish using smaller lures, but looking for a little bit bigger fish. Trolling a tad slower may have helped, too. A lot more people fishing this week. I think there were more bass guys fishing than trout fishing people out in boats. Should be good fishing this next week with warmer weather and fish just planted. Good Luck!
