Took my daughter to Rufus to get away from the crowd I knew would be on the Arm. We launched at first light and worked our way down towards the net pens. It took awhile to locate some eyes but eventually we found a back eddy that was holding a school of hens. I really didn't plan on keeping any eyes which worked out well because all but two of the eyes were over 22 inches. Those two were the lone male and a hen still full of eggs. Both were 20 inches. The two largest were a 7.5 and a 7.0. The rest were between 4 and 6lbs. All were caught on jigs. I did float the gravel bar down by the net pens but never had a bite. The only thing they wanted was a Yum 3.5 inch summer gill swimbait on a black jig head. I gave the day a 5 because of the quality not the quantity. We caught a total of 12 eyes and were off the water by noon.
