Met my fishing buddy Steve, at Martha lake at 5am, and motored our small boat out into the calm of the clear windless morning.
We seen fish jumping here and there in the middle of the lake, and spent the first hour chasing fish wakes with power bait and marshmallows to no avail. After an hour, we pulled out our newly acquired lake maps from WASHINGTONLAKES.COM and looked over the hunting ground. We proceeded to within a couple hundred feet of the shore, due north beyond the 48 foot hole, to the 30 foot depth, and cast our lines to the south with powerbait-crawdads- green color and white or green marshmallows with 4 foot leads. Steve caught one within minutes, and I was soon to follow. We caught our trout limit in about 90 minutes of some really exciting fishing all, measuring over 12 inches. well, except for my last trout.It was a real nice
17 and 1/4 inch pole bending, line screaming (us screaming) fight of 2 minutes. Life is good........
