Took Mike with me out to the Arm. We launched at first light and headed to some weedbeds that have been producing for us. The water has dropped 4 or 5 feet since the last time I was on the Arm. The weedbeds are now too shallow and the water is too clear to hold eyes. This also means most of the baitfish have moved out into deeper water. We ended up fishing the main river channel near buoy 1 with jigs and jigging raps. Perch was the best color; some of the eyes we caught coughed up 3 inch perch so match the hatch as the saying goes. For the morning, we caught 18 eyes. Most were dinks but 5 were eating size. The largest was about 21 inches. We ended up releasing all of them. The bite was actually tough and over with by about 0900. The cold front on Thursday and the dropping water level didn't help. It really felt like we were in a transition period between summer and fall. Going to have to get over to Potholes to hit the fall bite.
