Went with Glenn to Potholes. We spent the whole day trolling smile blades between the humps off the face of the dunes. We caught about 20 or so eyes and cleaned our 16 fish limit. We also caught 40 or so bluegills and cleaned a bunch. The largest were the size of a paper plate. We caught a dozen perch and cleaned 8. If there had been a tournament targeting who could catch the most 6 inch largemouth, Glenn and I would have been won as we caught over 25 of the little buggers. For the first 6 hours Glenn had caught the only 2 bullheads then I finally caught 1. Then I couldn't get the meow stink off of me and I eventually caught 15 or so. Glenn had a couple of nice walleye doubles and I was getting doubles of bullheads. Most of the fish were suspended between 10 and 15 fow.

The lake is low enough to have forced most of the fish out of the dunes

Wow, that sounds like quite a day of fishing with so many species caught! How many crawlers did you go through? Thank for sharing this post. Gotta get over there some time.

We probably went through 5 dozen crawlers. We only tip our slow death hooks with half a crawler, any more and you're just feeding the fish. I have caught lots of double digit eyes on half a crawler in the past.
