After a leisurely breakfast and a couple of presents (thanks kids!),
I piled the whole family into the boat for a bit of trolling. I ran
three poles on the riggers and a fourth over the back with an ounce
of weight. The weather was cloudy with a bit of wind. Used red and
chartreuse wedding ring spinners with corn behind 4/0 dodgers on the
riggers. Ran a purple/blue kokanee candy behind Mac's Flash Lites on
the upper pole. Trolled the west side, north of the launch as F&H
News suggested, rather than my usual summer pattern out in the middle.
Marked lots of fish. Michelle got the first fish, a nice fat 12 inch
kokanee on the upper pole. We had two other hits, but no more fish to
the boat. One hit the upper pole and jumped clear out of the water
before we got to the pole. Only fished for about 2 hours. Looks like
it will be a good year for kokes!
