Took my buddy Don out to Porcupine Bay. It was 20 degrees on the road to Porcupine and 29 when we launched. We spent the day casting jigs and blade baits on main Bay points and flats. Had to chip a little ice out of our rod guides for the first hour or so but it eventually turned into a beautiful day. Saw 2 other boats all day. We caught over 45 eyes and 8 burbot. Cleaned 27 eyes and 2 burbot.

Looks like a great day! I feel like, as I get into walleye fishing, every time out it gets a little better. Your reports help a lot!

Whatever you're using, be ready to move around and change colors until you find one that works. We probably tried half a dozen different colors yesterday till we found something that worked. Every time we moved we had to change our approach and even how we presented our lures.

That is one nice looking bunch of Walleye. Going to have to switch back to fishing for Eyes. If you're doing that well I might be able to get a couple. Would rather troll for Rainbow and Kokanee(if they can be found) but would sure like some Walleye to eat. You want to talk about COLD. I went up to Yocum Lake Saturday. Try paddling a canoe into the wind and run a fly rod with frozen line, that was cold. Warmed up by the end of the day and we had a good bite.

Part-time, brrr. Every day is different. Glenn was out today and did okay till about 0930 and then the eyes just shut down. He had success with different baits and in different areas than I did.

Nice Report Mark and thank you... Did you by chance catch any eyes in less than 30 feet? THanks and tight lines...

Jedi, on Saturday everything we caught was 50+ feet deep. They were all coughing up 3 inch perch. We also saw the seagulls plucking perch off the surface so the eyes and the burbot were actively feeding.

Thank you for the intel Mark. And hope you keep up the rhythm. Looks like the deluge of rain is finally here maybe mother winter will be delayed and give us some more windows this fall. Cheers
