I was able to fish with my son Bo and his guest Amanda. She had never been fishing before. We were on the lake from 8am-12:30.
I sped over to the dam so Amanda could see it. We had stopped to view it on Hwy 7 and we could see the orange buoys and then see them up close from the lakes surface.
Within minutes of getting 2 rods in the water we had a double. Only mine got into the boat. Amanda asked “Is that a sardine?” At the end we had 5 in the boat. 2 for me and 3 for them. Several got away.
At 11am Amanda and I were ready to go but my son said one more time going that way and he pointed. So, he got his hook-up and we watched him for 50 minutes in which he got 3 hook ups.
The water temperature was 58 to start and 60 at end of day. The air was in the 50’s. The weather was cloudy with sunbreaks. We fished surface to 30 feet. We fished with 5 lines out. 1 leadline from 1.5 colors to 3. 2 longlined with about ¼ to a half ounce. 2 on downriggers. We went from .8 to 1.7 mpg. All different colors of dodgers with different lures. We used worms, corn, and maggots for bait. The lake level was 1191.1 feet.
EDIT: A new camera has the wrong date and time on a clip in the video
