I went to Alder lake yesterday and got on the water just before 7. I had a very hard time finding fish, probably because of the bright sun and the water is very murky. I lost a nice cutthroat at the boat about 7:30 and I lost a small smallmouth a few hours later and had one decent bite that go away and that was it other than a few tiny fish following my lure. I tried a spinner, spoon and dropshotting bait but the fishing was abysmal. I would recommend going very early and definitely need downriggers.
The lake is full, the water is warm for Washington, and I saw a few eagles so it's wasn't a total loss. Swimming felt awesome. I'd say the water temp in the afternoon was between 70-75.
