My son and I started fishing around 8:30 and we stopped at 11am. It was a bit breezy from time to time which got the speed up to 1.7 or down to .9 mpg. We even had a sprinkle or two. I did apply sunscreen but I did not need it. I had to wear long sleeves.
The water was warm at 75-76 degrees. The fish finder looked to have fish from surface down to 40 feet. My first fish came within a few minutes and came off over the slash well of the boat and it jumped back into the water. I was at 22 feet on the downrigger. We used corn and worms for bait. My son got 2 into the boat with several that came off. I had a few on that didn’t get to the boar. The last was the biggest at 15inches.
Is there any reason that wake boarders have to come within 30 feet of your boat? The whole lake open and that is what happened. The wake from their boat was hard on my little boat and me.
