Arrived at the lake to early 6:45,the bite hasn't been to great
that early in the morning. Weather was all right no rain yet, and the
water was calm. Threw off the dock straight out about 40 yards, using
power bait,3 foot leader, my boy did the same.7:30 rolled around and
my pole started to move violently, getting use to my new pole, started
to play it for a little bit, got the fish to the dock and it was
pulled under the dock by the biggest bass I have ever seen. My pole
about broke had to stuff the tip in the water, the bass had grabbed
my fish and was trying to eat it. I was freaking out and my boy was
freaking out, luckily my fish got away and my boy netted it in. I've
been to desire now a dozen times and caught fish, but this rainbow
was the brightest and biggest fish yet, she with roe, was about 17"
and 2 1/2 pounds she was fat. Now back to the bass, don't leave your
fish hanging on your stringer or you might find it gone. Mr. or Mrs.
bass is not a dumb fish it will only go for live bait, fisherman have
used jigs and worms, but that fish loves live bait. So to let you
know, it looks like about a 12 to 15 ponder, it's huge. Good luck
if your trying to catch it, its a smart.
