Arrived at green lake after work at 6pm,didn't even try to go and fish the T dock where the Russians fish (some of them have started to use two rods for the carp now!). decided to fish the boat house side by the lilies and had no takes for the first hour (too many walkers, skaters, dogs etc) Then when it got a little quieter the rod tip started to bounce around (just what I call "liners", the fish just bumping the line whilst grubbing around on the lake bed near your line).
Ten minutes later I was into a good carp, played it gently for a good while and finally it came to the net, weighed in at 14 pound 2 posit was a nice golden common carp. Quick photo taken and back in the lake she went (unharmed)
I had 4 other carp that evening but they were both around the ten pound mark. keeping my fingers crossed for a 20 pounder.
can't really say what bait I am using now due to the fact that the carp are starting to go really well on this bait now and I don't want the CARP KILLERS who fish the T dock to take advantage of it (let them use their out of date methods TWO RODS and bait).
Catch and release is the way to go
