My brother Ed and I were staying at our dad's on Blue Lake. We went to
try out Banks. We launched at 0600 from Coulee Playland and proceeded
straight across the lake towards the other side. I rigged my bro' up
for walleye (yellow spinner and worm) and I rigged for trout (pop gear,
wedding ring, and worm). We got about half way across when his pole took
a dive towards the water. He reeled in a nice walleye about 20 inches. We set
it free. A little bit later my pole started to dance, right away I knew it was
a trout. I landed the trout and took a measurement, 20 inches of solid rainbow
trout. It went straight in to the live well. What a fish!
I had read reports of guys inadvertently catching large trout while they
were fishing for walleye and I had to experience it for my self.

That was a good couple of hours on the water.
