The first day of season and we were there before daylight, all told we had 6 boats. The weather wasn't that bad but the weeds were the worst I've seen on this lake at this time of the year, we have fished this spot for the past 6 years and the weeds aren't this bad usually until late June. The fishing was good but we lost a lot due to the weeds. You would hook them , get wrapped up in the weeds, and then brake the hook. All in all it was still a great day, we all limited out and were home by noon. If you go out and want to troll, good luck the weeds are starting to break the water line. There were a lot of fish and should be some great fishing to come if you use a heavier leader than 4 pound. We caught them on green power bait floating about 18" off the bottom.
