My family went to Curlew lake for vacation this year and we were all surprised. We had great weather except for 2 days of straight rain (Sat and Sun) My parents were very lazy so I got to take the boat out by myself and fish all day long, caught hundreds of 6-8 inch bass on white roostertails and caught a couple about 2 lbs on white and yellow spinnerbaits. Biggest trout was 21 inches (go powerbait)but most were right around 11-14 inches real fat. Caught a few squawfish while fishing for bass(boy they will never do that again) all about 16-24 inches nasty fish The biggest surprise was we were casting with 1/8 oz roostertails for bass right in front of the state park and hooked into one of the 350 muskies that were planted 2 years ago to control squawfish populations. The muskie dragged the boat around for a good 15 minutes (couldn't horse it on 6lb line) we got it up to the side of the boat and it was approx. 36-40 inches long 10-15 lbs. Went to net it and it jumped the net and
snapped the line. Total bummer. We talked to the warden and he said that the fish is 2 years old and was originally 11 inches long(11inches-36inches in 2 YEARS) been eating good. Sorry for the long report C&R always -Dustin
