On July 14th I went to Stransberry Lake & started fishing off shore. Lots of kids swimming so I unloaded my boat & started trolling. Not 10 mins later, I thought I hit a snag because my pole almost went in. I started to reel in, but it seemed to be ok. so I started rowing again. Pole jerks again. I decide to just reel it in. That is when I realized I had a fish, probably a 12"er since it's not fighting so much. I got it within 5' of the boat & it jumps out of the water. What a sight-it's a big one. I grab the net & place it near my feet. I then play with the fish to wear him out & finally get him to the right side of the boat, netted him & brought him in. After getting the fly out of his lip, I laid him down & measured him. 21" of Rainbow Trout!!
That may not be much to you guys, but for someone who has never caught anything over 12", it's a pure joy!!
Now, if my husband were there, it would've been better because I could've gloated for 5 mins!!
