Just returned from an afternoon of fishing at Battleground Lake with my fishing partner,my wife. Well she did it again, she out fished me. We trolled around the north end most of the time,occasionally we would vary locations, but
the north end seemed to be the hot spot for us. She was trolling a blue and white number 9 floating rapala with about 3 feet of leader tied to a swivel with 1 large split shot above the swivel , mine was rigged the same except I was using a perch colored rapala. I highly recommend the blue and white rapala ,we renamed the color its now battleground blue and white. We hooked around 40 fish, we kept 6 of them, they averaged about 13 inches, some pretty meaty fish for stocked fish .When trolling the rapalas we had the best luck letting the fish hook themselves,most of the fish were hooked in the corner of there mouths trying to set the hook seemed to rip it out of there mouth.If you go to Battleground Lake maybe I'll see you out there if your using a Battleground blue and white rapala I will know you read this report.Good Luck and happy fishing .
