I fished this lake two times - the opener, and June 14. The lake was relatively slow both days, yes, even opening day. We did see fish caught but not like the typical opener. We did see a young fisherman catch a nice 19 inch brute rainbow that opening day. Everyone seemed to be using powerbait, including us. However, the fish that we caught (2 nine or ten inchers) were caught trolling a triple teaser and a phoebe through the south end of the lake. June 14 we tried both powerbait and trolling the teaser for about 4 hours with absolutely no luck. Either the lake has been fished out (no brute [brood?] stock this year), or the weather still hasn't warmed up enough to increase the fish's metabolism.
