Started from Bridgeport ST park Friday 09:30. Trolled around the dam and up river 1 to 2 miles. Hit 1 small trout on X-4 flatfish (green pirate) in the morning. Hit 2 Trips between 5 to 6 lb around 2pm on orange J-9 jointed Rapala. Saturday 3/11 we hit another 5 lb trip on the same Rapala. All were hit close to the surface. 200' back, 14lb Fireline with 10 feet of fluorocarbon leader. ProCure Anise plus. We trolled very slow with the flatfish. I thought the first Trip was a fluke. I wanted to move closer to shore & hit the throttle (4 to 5 mph). Soon as I slowed down first Trip hit. Other 2 were the same way, hit the gas hard 3 to 5 mph for a few seconds then cut to idle. they hit soon as the rod tips straightened back out. All three were over deeper water 80' to 160'. Couldnt hit anything near shore. Graphed a lot of big fish 49 to 59 feet down in 75 to 85 feet of water. Beautiful lake & park. Fish were better shape (red meat) than the steelhead are at McNary now.
