Fished Goose Lake June 1.I had thought that this would be the opener for it but found out it is now open all year. The road in from Carson was a real delight due to snow drifts on both sides of the road that were up to 8 feet. Sure glad I didn't meet any cars coming out. The trip out threw Willard was snow free. I would recommend that route.
Now about the fishing. It seemed that the few fisherman that had fished right after daylight trolling rooster tails did do very well. I started at 7:30 am using the same colors on my spinners and didn't get a hit. I started to change my rigs to what ever and everything I had and finally caught a couple of small trout. Finally I put on a small black fly that looks like a miniature spin glow and the fish picked up interest and I was limited in a very short time. Nice fish but not as big as last year.4 browns and a rainbow. I turned loose I small brook trout. That's about it.
