I know this report is about a few years late, but I just remembered going their recently and the lake only has only 3 reports, which is sad since it is such a great lake and worth the drive and hike. We were spending a week in the summer at Priest Lake and our friends who have a place their wanted to take us to this great lake about 45 minutes maybe an hour away...So we loaded up a canoe and a paddleboat on a trailer, made the beautiful and scenic drive out to the lake and hiked in about a 1/4 mile to a pristine lake. Crystal clear water with one flyfisherman out their having no luck, who left shortly after we arrived.... 4 of us split up into 2's, 2 on each boat, and had a little competition to see who could get the most, the biggest and first. My boat one all of those without a question. Within the first 2 minutes, our boat hooked into a beautiful 27" rainbow right away on a bronze dick nite, bronze not gold....but anyways, the next two hours kept us busy. Everyone used a dick nite or a wedding ring, and yes, single, barbless, and no bait, and we got about 25-30 total between the four of us. Mostly 15" and better beautiful cutthroats and some big 20"+ rainbows, maybe 5....And when I mean beautiful cutthroats, I mean the deepest and brightest colors, and overall, the most beautiful fish I have ever seen let alone caught. Everything was released harmlessly to go back and grow and make more, because the lake is too small to lose even a few of them...It's well worth the drive and the small hike and carry in a little boat or canoe and go have yourself a blast on a great little lake, but please obey the regs and catch and release, this is a naturally respawning and small lake that can't take the pressure of heavy fishing, so let them go to be their next time.
