Today was a day of firsts, both my first trip since september and my first trip to Lone. A good day of fishing...hauled in two or three nice rainbows. Put them back of course. I trolled a needle fish for about 45 minutes with no luck. Fished from 1-4 it was beautiful weather, a great day to warm up the boat for a new season. But I must have missed something in the regs. Although I used barbless hooks and released my catches because they were under 18", when I had no luck with the needle fish, I did use Powerbait. I know a foul. I found out when someone put two pages that were torn out of the regs under our windshield wipers. The parts that I was in violation of were circled. Look I admit I screwed up. But I think that whoever did that is rediculous. If you get close enough to someone to see what their using and see it's illegal two things: 1) You are not a game warden, therefore you have no duty to enforce laws 2) If you insist on being a WDFW officer for a minute, just mention it to the violator. I realize that lakes like lone are a gorgeous treasures and need to be treated as such, I screwed up... If you're looking for a beautiful lake and a good time Lone Lake is the place for you, but remember NO BAIT! Good luck!
