I have fished this lake on a number of occasions, it seems to be a hit or miss kind of lake. I pulled into Winthrope on one of my weekend get aways and they were having a BBQ contest that weekend. Me being a lover of BBQ I stopped to get a bite to eat. I asked some older gentlemen that were sitting there where is a good lake to fish. They gave me a good going over and suggested I give Buck lake a try. Even drew a map on a napkin for me, so I head to the lake I get there and it's small real small! I figured those old guys played a joke on me, well it was getting late and I figured what the hell give it a try. Luckly I had my canoe with me most of the lake shore is covered in willows and swampy. But I discovered the lake is fairly deep I was worried it froze solid in the winter and there would be no fish. I ended up getting some nice little RB and a few holdovers. All in all had a good time and its generally quite at this little lake. Would I go back you bet!
