Went out to Cassidy try some bank fishing with power bait right off the boat launch. I saw some guys few days earlier kick *ss with the triploid trout while I got skunk out in the tube. Well, I did get one little planter but threw him back. Got him on a carey special.

Today for my 40th Birthday, I decided to come back. started at 130 pm give or take. No luck for 45 minutes or so. Then after reeling in the bait a bit closer in, I got a nibble and set the hook. Oh boy! The rod bent double and line screamed out. Ten minutes later, the big trout got close. He had to be at least 20 inches if not more. Probably holdover trip from last year or whatever. Thought I had him...got him close and was in the process of beaching him when he threw the hook. Darn! Very next cast, got a little planter...fortunately lightly hooked. Threw it back. Next cast, I got another bite. missed that one. A bit quick on the trigger as they say! Next hour and half, zip bites and fellow anglers joined me. I had to go as my girlfriend was coming home early to cook me a nice big steak dinner! I'll be back!
