*Extremely* good fishing for bruiser bluegills and decent sized yellow perch. Fished below the mid-lake irrigation dam. Pieces of worms on the bottom causes non-stop action for yellow perch from 6-8 inches, averaging around 7". First trip had three carp on with this method, only was able to catch and kill one. Bluegills were caught on mealworms or grasshoppers under a slip bobber. They are eager, fat, and large (for E. Washington, that is - from 7-8.5"). Kept about 30-40 perch each time, plus up to about a dozen bluegills. It is a rather annoying hike in since the Refuge has the road to this lake blocked by a gate.

However, BEWARE!! There is a MAJOR infestation of poison ivy around the south shore of this lake. This is very thick around the approach road and especially around the irrigation dam. This stuff will REALLY mess you up, so stay well away from it. If you see a plant (vine or bush) with three leaves, keep your distance or you'll pay a heavy price. The Refuge needs to get in there and hit that horror with Roundup until every plant is dead.

Also, people are leaving too much garbage there. PICK YOUR TRASH UP, YOU PIGS! Just because this is public land doesn't give you a right to trash it. Carry some out with you, if you see any.

Good fishing!
