We got to Chapman Lake a little after 7:00 am; dunking the Doghouse at the boat launch (it really helped that the launch was lined with Marston Matting; the weeds just beyond the launch are thick. Be sure to remove all weeds attached to your boat and boat trailer after launching and retrieving). The water surface was still, the water temperature was 68 degrees, which added to the stubborness of the fish. We got a few bites down at the deeper part of the lake, but was only able to coax one (ONE!!) fish into the boat. This lake has promise---the fish finder showed lots of fish at the deeper parts, but if fish could be likened to football teams--- these fish would be Oakland Raiders!! Stubborn, sneaky, yet good at what they do!
