My wife and I decided to go to Offut Lake for camping and fishing. We usually do this once per year around this time as we spent 1 week of our honeymoon here 4 years ago. That was the year I won the trolling motor for the Fathers day fishing derby.
The camping was great as always. Becky, Rob and Bob (Resort Owners), go above and beyond to make you welcome. The fishing was great. We both caught our limit and my wife caught the biggest fish this time on own her Mike's power egg and power bait combo... there was plenty fish being caught on Saturday. We seen a guy lose at least a 2lb trout on the dock, he had the fish but he wanted to get a picture of it in the water while he was holding it, the fish wiggled and he was gone.
Overall it was another great time fishing and camping at Offut lake. I highly reccommend this lake and the resort. Just a hint there is a Fathers day derby this weekend at Offut lake Resort. Deryl Slaughter
