I was on vacation this week at Wapato Point and wasn't having any success fishing off of their docks so we decided to give Roses Lake a try. My Dad and and got up there at about 7:00 AM on Monday. I fished off of the dock at the boat lauch using two of Eagle Claw's dark red Nitro Eggs, with a small worm below. I had about 1/8 of an ounce of a slip weight on above my swivel, then about a 2-3 foot leader with a red gamakatsu octopus hook. I had my line in the water for only about 15 minutes when I hooked my fish. The fish was fighting pretty hard and I was thinking it was going to be a bass, or a catfish when I had it on at first. I got it up to where I could see and and was amazed at the beauty of a Rainbow trout. It ended up being about 16 inches. I wish I could of stayed and fished longer but we had to go. I look forward to fishing this lake again next time I'm over on vacation.
