RE:Anyone fished the Skagit recently?
Regarding Steelhead and Chinook, if the selective gear rules aren't in effect, what do you guys suggest I consider for tipping my drifts with? I'm thinking eggs and scent, as I don't like to deal with a bunch of messy bait anyway.

RE:Anyone fished the Skagit recently?
Thanks rseas. That's what I had hoped to hear. I "assume" that since I'm not keeping anything, as long as I adhere to the selective gear rules, I should be OK. I'll check with the Park Ranger, but it should be a go. I didn't know you could drift there. Interesting. I may have to give it a go. I've g...

RE:Anyone fished the Skagit recently?
I should have clarified better where we'll be. I'll be fishing at or around Rasar State Park. Not sure what part of the Skagit River that is, but hopefully the park ranger knows whether or not I can fish there.

Anyone fished the Skagit recently?
We're camping on the Skagit this weekend, and while I know it's a few days before the start of salmon season, I was wondering if there's anything else running right now that I can legally go for? I'm catch and release only, so if I "accidentally" hook a salmon, oh well....:-$ Seriously though, are t...

RE:Grayland Beach/Westport Jetty fishing
And as always be sure to check the reports... I'm not sure if the jetty should technically be under area 2 "Westport" or 2-2 "Gray's Harbor". I know I've posted under both for the Westhaven State Park Jetty. 2-2 reports are a lot easier to navigate though because the last 6 reports are for the jett...

RE:Grayland Beach/Westport Jetty fishing
As far as the reel is concerned, I'm not well equipped there either. I've got a Pfluger President 3000 spin reel. It's not ideal, but I can cast the Hell out of it. Yea, I know I'll look like a moron out there, but it won't be the first time.

Grayland Beach/Westport Jetty fishing
We're going camping this weekend at Grayland Beach State Park, and I'd like to toss a line off the jetty and see what I come up with. I'm a salt water newbie and could use some advice on bait, tackle, and some places to try. Not looking to steal any secret spots or anything like that. I just want to...

Lake bank/dock fishing suggestions with my kids
Hi everyone. First post on this great site, and it's a straight forward one. My 4 year old twin boys are finally at the age where I can begin introducing them to fishing. I've been out of the fishing loop for a number of years myself, and I'm looking for suggestions on where to go with them. For all...
