Re: Palouse river catfish
thanks for the replys guys! I will have to get some crickets and try them out. I really like the float idea. Will it be obvious where the shallow flats are? We wont have a depth finder, I guess we could always bring a stick, lol, since it seems like most folks are fishing in around 2ft of water.

Palouse river catfish
My husband Danny and I will be headed over to the Palouse this weekend to try and figure out the catfish fishery. I figure the fishing is better in early june, but we were not able to take off the time until this coming weekend. We have never fished for cats before, but I figure something along the ...

From my experience the shimano charter special is going to be the best quality lever drag in that price range.

I highly doubt that you will receive cash for a gift card refund. What bodo said is a common occurrence. Thats why you can buy giftcards online at discounted prices. People want cash and are willing to take less.

Re: Skoke Chums
skok is usually a couple of weeks ahead of the puget sound rivers. Some of the best chum fishing for me was around halloween. And we have hooked some real MONSTERS in there. My husband hooked one that was easily over 20. And even after fighting it for 20 minutes it ended up spooling him. Everyone th...

Re: Bobberdoggin
Those new doggin floats look pretty cool. But hunter is right, you cant get a better float for bobber doggin than the ceardrifts. You want a float that doesnt go under easily. Have your bobber stop (depending on the hole) about 2 ft deeper than the hole you are drifting. You want the float to tap bu...

from what I have heard riverbend is currently out of stock on uncured roe. Try sunrise baits!

Re: Worms in Salmon
The tapioca parasite is a myxozoan parasite, not a worm. Anisakis is a nematode. Two very different parasites.

Re: Worms in Salmon
The worms are probably anisakis, very commmon in all salmon. We are a dead end host to the worm. They can cause a digestive reaction when they try to escape from your digestive track.

Re: Skokomish Fishing and Camping
I believe you cant fish above the 106 mon-thurs. Quite a few holes you can access around the mouth area. Youll see where everyone parks. Fairly slow today. Eggs in the morning can be killer! Spinners in tide water are effective as well.

Re: Fishing & Crabbing in Hood Canal
As far as I know the closest place you will find pinks on the Hood Canal is Hoodsport. I am not sure if any other river south of there gets any pinks. Sometimes jigging off of Bald point across from union can get you a king.

Re: Been to the Westport Jetty this summer?
The jetty has been weird this year. All ling cod I hooked this year were undersized. Black sea bass and cabezon were plentiful, but I go for the lings. I am not a fan of greenling and in past years they would be about as pesky as puget sound dogfish, this year I only hooked a couple. Not sure if the...

Re: Barrier Dam
I dont believe you can. Columbia river tribs are barbless. Try the gamakatsu 2/0 barbless, the shape of them keeps the hook in the mouth better. I think they are considering the allowance of barbs in July for the summer runs though.

Re: Mystery Trout
I would guess it to be an odd colored brown trout. The lake is stocked with browns. And looking at the picture closely, its fins are stunted from what I would assume is from being raised in a hatchery. Its pelvic fins seem to be almost completely eaten away.

That would be plenty of line for small salmon and steelhead. Id throw some 12lb maxima ultra green on there. Give you a little more line capacity.

I would suggest taking the drive to Kapowsin lake. You will catch crappie all day long, though it may be challenging to find one of decent size.
